LandPaths- Introduction to Slow Restoration Forestry: Session 2

“We’re excited to introduce this brand new workshop! This is a three-day skills training course in the basic skills, practices and implementation of slow restoration forestry practices. You’ll learn basic ecological forestry practices, tree and other plant identification, proper hand tool use and maintenance, forest thinning protocols as outlined by CalFire, forestry for ecosystem restoration, and proper burn pile formation and implementation.

What is slow restoration? 

Slow restoration refers to an approach to stewarding the land that is primarily hand tool based and focuses on taking the whole ecosystem into account and caring for it in a mindful and observant way.

When and where is it?  

Where: Riddell Preserve – Healdsburg, California (specific directions provided upon registration) Riddell is located off Brack Road above Dry Creek Valley in Healdsburg.

October 27 – 29, 2023

Friday- 9am to 3pm, Saturday – 9am to 3pm (option to camp out at the Riddell cabin), Sunday – 9am – 3pm
