LandPaths- Wildlife Camera Training

May 25 @ 9:00 am - 1:30 pm

“Help us understand more about our wildlife at Riddell Preserve! Our goal with this pilot project is to understand the effects of forest stewardship on wildlife biodiversity, behavior, and movement patterns.

Outline for the day: We will hike about a mile up a steep but well-graded trail to the Riddell cabin. During this training, staff will talk about wildlife camera uses, LandPaths’ wildlife camera projects, wildlife camera setup, experimental design, and Landpaths’ forestry practices. As part of this training, you will get the opportunity to assist us with the setup of the wildlife cameras in locations with differing stewardship practices and habitat features. Our hike to set up the cameras will span approximately 1 mile on relatively flat terrain.
Please also consider participating in a follow-up training in the LandPaths office on 6/22. In this training, we will review and analyze photos collected by wildlife cameras stationed at Riddell in May and June. “
