SC Regional Parks- Stories of the Land: Taylor Mountain

March 10 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

“Who lived here before us? What influences have past practices had on our current landscapes? Culture is alive, thriving and ever changing. Join us for these talks that examine the people and personalities of Sonoma County, their stories and how their lives are tied to our most loved parks. How did Taylor Mountain get its present name? What role did the homestead located on the mountain play in California history? Take a walk through the park and learn about Taylor Mountain’s gold rush roots and how the 1906 earthquake affected the property’s 40 year run as a tourist destination. For more information, contact Ellie Muelrath at ParkPrograms@sonoma-county.org. Registration required.”
