“Designed for new birders and beginners, these workshops will help you develop your bird-watching skills while learning more about our feathered friends and their world. Plumage, field marks, songs and calls … there are lots of different ways to identify who’s who. We’ll practice and discover some useful tools (that aren’t books!) for when you’re stuck. Join for one workshop, or both! All ages welcome and binoculars provided. The cost is $10 for in-county residents and $12 for out-of-county attendees. For more information, contact Cricket Swannucci at communityengagementprograms@sonoma-county.org. Registration required.
Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking is $7 or free with a Regional Parks membership pass.”
